GOES 15

GOES 15 was previously GOES West until it was replaced by GOES 17 in 2018, having been launched in 2010 and having provided coverage of the Pacific and the western side of the Americas.

GOES 15 is kept in reserve in case of issues with any of the other GOES satellites and it is activated on a periodic basis for testing, which is normally around the northern hemisphere hurricane season.
